Privacy Policy

Effective: January 1, 2025 Last updated: August 13, 2026 Businescope Apps LLC

01Who we are and what this Policy covers

Businescope provides cross-company business intelligence reporting: we connect to a customer's data sources, normalize the data, and deliver integrated management and financial reports. This Policy explains how Businescope Apps LLC ("Businescope", "we", "us") handles personal information on businescope.com and in our services (together, the "Services").

We handle data in two roles. As a controller, we decide how to use information about website visitors, people who contact us, and users who administer an account — this Policy governs that information. As a processor and service provider, we handle business data that a customer connects to our platform, which may contain personal information about that customer's employees or clients. We process that data only on the customer's documented instructions. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train machine learning models.

If you are an employee or client of a Businescope customer and want to access or delete data held in that customer's environment, please contact the customer directly. We will forward your request to them.

We collect this information directly from you when you fill in a form, create an account, or contact us; automatically from your device through cookies and server logs; and from our payment processor. We do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, education records, or health data.

Sensitive personal information. The only sensitive category we hold is your account credentials, used solely to authenticate you. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose other than those permitted by law, do not use it to infer characteristics about you, and do not sell it.

Children. The Services are business tools and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

03How we use information

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services and your account
  • Set up connectors and integrate, normalize, and report on your data sources
  • Respond to demo requests, pricing inquiries, and support tickets
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and keep required financial records
  • Send service messages about outages, releases, security, and changes to our terms
  • Send marketing about our products, with an unsubscribe link in every message
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with law and defend legal claims

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

04How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only to:

  • Service providers and processors — cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, support tooling, product analytics, and error monitoring. They act on our written instructions and may not use the data for their own purposes. A current list is available on request.
  • Professional advisors — auditors, accountants, and lawyers, under confidentiality obligations.
  • A buyer or successor — in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
  • Authorities — where required by law or valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety. Where legally permitted, we notify the affected customer first.
  • Anyone you direct us to — including integrations you connect.

None of these disclosures include mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data. See section 6.

05We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell personal information for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not run advertising or social media pixels on our website, we do not disclose personal information to advertising networks or data brokers, and we are not a data broker. We do not profile you in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we offer no financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

06Text messaging and mobile opt-in

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you appointment and demo confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, and replies to questions you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How we obtain consent. You provide your mobile number and separately check the SMS consent box on our booking or contact form on businescope.com. The box is never pre-checked, and consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. We do not buy, rent, or otherwise acquire mobile numbers from third parties.

How we use mobile information. We use your mobile number and consent record only to send the messages described above, to keep proof of your consent, and to comply with telecommunications rules.

Mobile information is never shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade mobile numbers or SMS consent data under any circumstances.

Opting out and getting help. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages; we will send one confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for assistance, or email at@businescope.com. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You may withdraw SMS consent at any time without affecting your account or any other part of the Services. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

07Cookies and tracking

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication, session integrity, and security; functional cookies that remember your preferences; and analytics cookies that help us understand aggregate usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking necessary cookies will break parts of the Services.

Because we do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing for an opt-out preference signal to apply to. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and honor Global Privacy Control and other recognized universal opt-out mechanisms. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no common standard for them.

08Your privacy rights

If you live in a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and Florida — you have the rights below. We extend the same rights to residents of any state as its privacy law takes effect. Specific rights vary by state and are subject to legal exceptions.

  • Know and access — confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy, including its categories, sources, purposes, and recipients.
  • Delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you.
  • Correct — have inaccurate personal information corrected.
  • Port — receive your data in a portable, readily usable format where technically feasible.
  • Opt out — of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and profiling. We do not carry out any of these activities, but you may still submit a request.
  • Limit sensitive information — restrict use of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Services, charge a different price, or lower service quality because you exercised a right.

How to submit a request

Email at@businescope.com stating the right you want to exercise. We deal with consumers exclusively online, so email is our designated request channel.

To protect your data we must verify your identity before acting. We will ask for information that matches what we already hold — normally the email address associated with your account or inquiry. We use whatever you supply for verification only, and then delete it. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written, signed permission or a valid power of attorney; we may still contact you to confirm.

We acknowledge requests promptly and respond within 45 days. We may extend once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, and will tell you before the first period ends. Opt-out requests are honored within 15 business days. Requests are free unless manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we will explain any fee first. If an exception prevents us from acting, or we cannot verify you, we will tell you why.

Appeals

If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or writing to at@businescope.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond in writing within 45 days (60 days for Colorado and Connecticut residents) with our decision and the reasons for it. If we deny the appeal, we will tell you how to submit a complaint to your state attorney general.

California "Shine the Light"

California residents may request a list of personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We make no such disclosures; you may confirm this in writing at at@businescope.com.

09Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for. Account and contract data is kept for the life of the account and for six years afterwards, to satisfy tax and accounting requirements and to defend legal claims. Customer data in the platform is deleted or returned within 30 days of termination, per the services agreement; residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within a further 90 days. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or the contact goes inactive. Logs and cookie identifiers are kept only as long as needed for security and analytics. After these periods we delete the data or irreversibly de-identify it, and we do not attempt to re-identify de-identified data.

10Security and data locations

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data we hold, including encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access control, logging and monitoring, vendor security review, staff confidentiality obligations, and a documented incident response process. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by state breach-notification law.

Personal information is stored and processed in the European Union (Lithuania). Where data crosses borders, we rely on contractual data protection commitments with each recipient together with encryption and access controls. Enterprise customers can request details of hosting regions.

11If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland

Because we host data in the European Union and offer our Services to organizations there, the General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR may apply to our processing. This section supplements the rest of this Policy for people protected by those laws. Where this section conflicts with another section, this one prevails for you.

Controller. Businescope Apps LLC is the controller of the information described in section 2. Where we process business data on a customer's behalf, that customer is the controller and we act as processor under Article 28 terms.

Legal bases. We rely on: performance of a contract, to provide the Services and administer your account; legitimate interests, to secure and improve the Services, run analytics, and market to business contacts, balanced against your rights; consent, for non-essential cookies and marketing where consent is required, which you may withdraw at any time; and legal obligation, for tax, accounting, and records-retention duties.

Your rights. In addition to the rights in section 8, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests, request restriction of processing, and object to direct marketing at any time. Exercising a right is free and will not disadvantage you.

International transfers. Data is stored in the European Union and may be accessed by our staff in the United States for support and administration. For those transfers we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with encryption, access controls, and contractual commitments from each recipient. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.

Complaints. Write to us first at at@businescope.com and we will try to resolve the matter. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country of residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office.

12Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as our Services or the law change. We will revise the last-updated date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email or in-product notice before the change takes effect. Prior versions are available on request.
